Apartment Renovation in Kifisia

The project concerns the renovation of an existing apartment for a young family. It is a three-bedroom apartment in a multi-family building of the 80’s.

The original arrangement of the apartment consisted of three bedrooms and separate areas for living room, dining room and kitchen that didn’t reflect the clients needs who wanted an undivided space for living, dining, and kitchen to keep together all family members.

The main challenge was to relocate the kitchen area near the living room area as there was a lot of restriction due to the position of the building main staircase lobby and the relatively narrow floor plan. The bedroom area was rearranged to create a master bedroom and two more bedrooms along with a bathroom, a wc and small laundry room.

The materials and colors are soft and refined, using solid oak floors in natural color and pale white color lacquer for built in wardrobes and doors that provide a timeless and calmful environment. The only elements that stand out is the walk-in closet of the master bedroom hidden behind black tinted glass and the kitchen made by smoked oak veneer and black lacquer.

In the living room area, the fireplace area was redesigned retaining thought the original hearth.

Special attention was given to the lighting of all areas, in order to have different levels and qualities using direct and indirect lighting sources.
